your anti-aging routine?

I turned 25 at the end of last year but I was more worried about spots than wrinkles! Thankfully my skin has started to clear up and I actually look like a 25 year old as opposed to a spotty teenager. Woo! :)

But it’s got me thinking about aging and whether or not I should be using any anti-aging products now. Most of the goodies I use are all about getting the best results immediately and I don’t really think about the future of my skin (although I always wear a moisturiser or foundation with an SPF)

My mum and sister had noticeable crows feet around their eyes and laughter lines around their mouths by the time they were about 30 – my sis is 32 now – and although I seem to be taking after my dad I’m a bit worried that I’ll hit 30 and my face will start to look like a scrunched up paper bag

Do you use any anti-aging lotions or potions at the min? Did you start young or are you gonna wait till you actually see “the first signs of aging?” I was thinking of picking up a night cream or something at least but there’s so many available it’s hard to know where to start! ♥

Hey Joy! You seem to be on the right track with your SPF! That is probably the best thing you could do! I have always used some form of retanoid (retin-a, and now differin)...primarily to prevent acne/spots...but, also for the antiaging benefits. I have been using Differin for years now and love it! :) P.S. Love the Shar-pei puppy picture in this post, my old roomate used to have one of these dogs! :)

my old beauty teacher told us that at 25 is when you really need to start taking care of your skin. and to use a really good moisturiser on your neck because theres nothing you can do about that once it starts to sag lol. i use eye cream and sometimes an anti aging serum as well as a dermabrasion system, and im only 19 haha. freak?

I use an anti wrinkle gel cream every nite now...it worries me ever since i hit 25..haha...I uses eye cream as well since I'm 20... I think it's imp to start young cos when u actually get lines and bags..it's kinda hard to remove them without surgical methods..

I'm way older than you and although I still look at least 10 years younger than I am, that's pure luck. I wish I'd taken better care of my skin when I was in my early 20s.

Sunscreen is definitely the most important (I hate, hate, hate sunscreen but I can't be without it in Australia), and an anti-ageing eye cream probably wouldn't hurt at this point either.

Also, tons and tons of water. :-)

I just found out recently that you're supposed to protect your skin with sunscreen EVERY day.. O_O I didn't know that. lol. I bet a dermatologist would cringe if they saw my skin. Hahah! I use anti-aging stuff now tho.. in my nightcream. I still suck at the sunscreen thing tho.

The most important thing is to you wear a moisturizer with an SPF of at least 15 every day and when you're out in the sun protect yourself with 30 or higher. When I was your age I started using Vivier High Potency Serum (IDS 20) and still do, I think it's served me well. It's really expensive though. I also use a moisturizer, an eye cream and an anti-wrinkle cream at night but I'm a little bit older than you. Oh, and I have the Clarisonic Mia, it's amazing! You might be a little too young to need to use it yet but it's been one of the best investments I've made for my skin. Hope this helps : )

I just started getting some unwelcome wrinkles on my forehead and im only 23 :( I've started wearing invisible zinc and frownies at night (not really sure if they work on not but I figure it can't hurt!) xx

LOL that puppy picture was so cute! Good touch to this post :) I slather on moisturizer on my face, neck and chest every night, and I always wear SPF makeup. The only anti-aging stuff I use is the Walmart Equate version of L'Oreal RevitaLift eye cream. I started when I turned 18, and now I'm 19. I wonder if wearing eye cream for years will make a difference 10 years from now...

Prevention is better than cure!! keep those wrinkles at bay as long as you can - once you've got them you can't get rid of them! I'm almost 24 and use anti-wrinkle moisturiser on my face and neck (because i hate it when you see older women with quite nice skin on their faces and saggy wrinkly necks - it just doesnt match!) but I have already started to see some lines forming around my eyes - eeek!

Hellooo!!
i started using anti-aging products around your age... I am 30 now.
A good light night cream is a nice idea I believe... Clarins has a very good line called "multi active" for the first signs and prevention! I currently use Estee Lauder's idealist serum (face/morning) and advanced night repair (face and eyes/night).
Be well!

i think a good night cream might be a good choice if want to tackle anti ageing. i've just turned 19, so i don't currently use any anti-ageing products, but i think when im a bit older i'll invest in a good night cream and some kind of moisturizer to help prevent wrinkles.

Thank you for all your lovely comments and good advice :) I've started taking much better care of my skin recently (and incorporated some anti-aging products) so will probably do a post on that sometime soon!

Your age can be called the best age to start for some nice anti-aging products. As market is full of product like these you should choose the one which suits best with your skin, for that you can try some samples of those products before you actually purchase one for you.
