Forgotten foundations (Revlons Photoready)

Revlon Photoready in Vanilla - the lightest shade I own

The lovely Chic Beauty Blogger recently got me thinking about foundations that I love but kinda forget about for long periods of time… A good example is Revlons Photoready. I think this stuff is amazing but for some reason it always ends up being pushed to the back of my drawers and only gets plucked out when I remember how much I like it (fairly infrequently unfortunately!)
I know loads of people have commented that this leaves them looking really sparkly and glittery and I dunno if maybe I’m just a much bigger fan of sparkles and glitter than I realised but I haven’t found that at all! I actually really like the finish it gives and although the coverage isn’t full enough to hide my dark circles and blemishes it’s nothing a little concealer can’t help with :)

I have it in two different shades cos I find that I sometimes prefer a slightly warmer finish and my skin tone changes throughout the months from pale to, er, really pale

Photoready in Shell - slightly warmer shade

Although I wouldn’t rate this quite as highly as Revlons Colorstay, which is one of my all time favourites, I still love using it and find it easy to apply, long-lasting and non-irritating (a few foundations I’ve worn recently have left me with little bumps under my skin – kinda gross really)

Have you tried this and been won over? Or do you prefer Colorstay? ♥

The foundation looks lovely! I haven't actually tried this yet but I do want to try this. Also, correct me if I'm wrong but I think this is the first time you've put a photo of yourself on the blog? You're so pretty :) xxx

That can't be foundation on your face! Looks super flawless! =D The vanilla shade kinda makes you look like a porcelain doll (or maybe its just the lighting..hehe)
heard so much about this foundation too and about the glitter factor and all. It looks nice on you..^__^
and at last, yay for face picture!

I recently rediscovered my love for Estee Lauder Doublewear when I was bought it for Christmas - Love is not the word!

I think the reason why it is not preferable over Colorstay is because PhotoReady leaves a dewy effect on the face. It's a big possibility that weather plays an important factor in using these two foundations. I use Colorstay and I prefer it than PhotoReady. Colorstay would give a matte finish and definitely not as 'glittery' as PhotoReady. Plus, when it's hot and humid in here, i don't think I'd need any more dewy effect on the face LOL. However, I'd understand why you love this foundation. It looks radiant on the face, and dewy fresh =)PhotoReady also reflects the highest point on the face better due to its sheer/glittery finish.

Definitely a Colorstay girl. I was tempted to buy this when it came out, but since it doesn't have a lot of coverage and it has that sparkle issue I chose to skip it.

The first thing I thought when seeing this post was 'HER EYES ARE AMAZING' :D seriously so pretty, you should post more face-photos! I haven't tried Photoready, just Colorstay and sadly it kept breaking me out even though I really loved the colour, coverage and texture - oh well!
xx

Lol, figured I’d sneak a couple of photos in without people noticing it was the first time, no such luck :p Thanks for all the extremely lovely comments though!

aisyah De Cullen it’s definitely a trick of the lighting! You could say many things about my skin but unfortunately flawless isn’t one of them :)

Bettina if I’m after full coverage I ALWAYS opt for Doublewear, I was blown away the first time I tried it and have repurchased it soooo many times since then. In fact I’ve been meaning to pick up Doublewear light for ages but keep forgetting so that’s next on my list

SolacEvy I couldn’t agree more! I reckon that’s why I always end up going for my Colorstay instead. As much as I love Photoready I just don’t find it as suitable for everyday wear. When I’m wearing Colorstay even if I end up waaay too warm in work (they never get the heating quite right!) I’ll still be fairly shine-free by the end of the day ♥

I haven't tried this, but since it doesn't cover as much as colorstay I'm sticking with colorstay lol ! :) Maybe try mixing colorstay with photoready? ;) x
