How much is your face worth? 2 versions

I’ve been loving all the “How much is your face worth?” posts that I’ve read recently… It’s so interesting to see what other people use on a daily basis and I nearly fell off my chair when I saw one for over £300… Seems scary when you think of it like that!!

I rather like bright eye makeup (partly cos I usually wear my glasses so I always opt for something that stands out) so figured I’d do two basic looks, both with bright eyes/pink lips… the only difference being that I’d only drugstore goodies for one and only high end goodies for the other :) Oh and I took each pic after I'd been wearing the makeup all day to give an idea of how it holds up! (apart from the lip stuff which I had to reapply)
Smashbox photo finish primer £29
Dior nude foundation £29.50
Estee Lauder disappear cream concealer £17
Too Faced ooh la rouge blush £13
Urban Decay brow box £16
Urban Decay Deluxe Palette £23
Bobbi Brown mascara £18
Lancome Artliner £19.92
Urban Decay lipstick in Jailbait £12.50
Too Faced lipgloss in Lilac £10
Total : £187.92

My makeup using the more expensive stuff

Primark prime of your life £3
NYC natural matte foundation £3.95
ELF tone correcting concealer £1.50
MUA blush £1
MUA eyeshadow in brown (for my brows) £1
MUA eyeshadows (shades 2, 5 and 6) £3
Natural collection mascara £1.99
NYC liquid eyeliner £2.99
17 shine on lipstick in sweet sizzle £3.49
Miss sporty lipgloss in 22 £1.99
Total : £23.91

Great post!
I'd be interested to see a review of the NYC foundation, it's always nice to know whether the cheap products are worth buying :)

What a great post! I hadn't seen any of these before! I may have to do this too!
I think both of your looks are beautiful and really the only difference I see between the expensive and the drugstore after a full day of wear is the cheek color!
XOXO

Wow very interesting post! I never think about how much I'm spending in all these products I'm using every day.
Both look really good on pictures, maybe the only noticeable difference is the blush color that looks more intense in the high end look.
Now, here's my question: what differences did you notice when wearing both looks (in terms of quality, application, confort in your skin, etc)? Are the £187.92 worth it?

Such a great idea. I can imagine how much work this took but I really found it interesting. As others have said the only real difference to me is the blush & your face appears a little more matte in the 2nd look. Which I prefer for myself. Good job!

This is actually the first I've seen of these "how much is your face worth?" posts and I really enjoyed it. Really interesting to see what you like to use.

The bright eye looks really suit you.

Great post, love these, it is quite scary to think about how much you spend on your face on a daily basis. I love how you did the 2 versions. I actually prefer the second look more, I've been wanting to try NYC foundations. I love how your skin looks matte in that one xxx

Thanks for the lovely comments everyone! ♥

Lauren will do! Actually been meaning to do a proper review on the NYC foundation for a while now so thanks for reminding me

Juno I reckon some of the products are definitely worth splashing out on! The concealer and primer from the drugstore selection just didn’t hold up as well as the high end ones, but I actually preferred the cheaper lipstick and gloss cos it lasted longer and I thought the end result was a bit nicer. Personally I love all the fancy high end packaging – I’m a total sucker for advertising and nice shiny things! I preferred the Dior foundation because it’s easy to apply and lasted really well but I actually had a couple of people say my skin looked nice when I was wearing the NYC foundation! :)

♥ Stacey's Beauty Blog ♥ yep, I won a load of M&S vouchers in work so treated myself to a simple mack because I’m loving the look at the min… took the pic as soon as I got into the house cos I didn’t want the makeup wearing off more than it had already!
