I know this might seem like an odd question but how would you feel about using “pre-owned” makeup?As part of a New Year resolution I’m planning on clearing out my makeup collection and I hate the thought of just chucking stuff that people might really enjoy using! It seems like such a waste and I thought giving the stuff away would be a nice thing to do instead of swapping it, you know? :)
I was thinking of giving away things I don’t use – it would all be stuff I don’t like, don’t use or just have too much of and I was just wondering if anyone would actually be interested before I take pics of things and actually start posting about it ♥

I would say Yes!!! :) I know how you feel, so many time you use something like, once, and hate to just throw it away when it is in great condition and clean. I would certainly be interested and might eventually do something similar when I get to that "clean it out" phase. :)
I'd say yes.. I have a friend who's now abroad, and she always passed on her stuff to me & others and I always felt like Xmas had come early lol :)

I say definitely YES!!! I hate throwing away stuff I've only used a couple times... I think I still have a tube of foundation sitting around that I no longer use... I think it's so generous of you to give it away :)

i'd say yes ! =) i buy used makeup from blog sales sometimes.. they are generally cheaper and i get to try a variety of products.. it's so nice of you to give them away =)

I know some people may get squeamish about it, but there are definitely ways of 'cleaning' makeup to make it safe to use (thank god for ispropyl alcohol!).

Def yes, but the scrooge in me says why not try a blogsale first? You could donate the proceeds to a charity of your choice as well, if you don't want the extra cash for (more) makeup hehehe.

I shared makeup with a friend once and got a really bad rash but that's because I used the same applicator. I'd buy pre-owned foundation and nail polish but I'd stay away from eye shadow and mascara for sure!

Ha, I've been thinking the same thing. I was going through all my mineral and loose eyeshadows that I NEVER use, and thinking how they were going to waste and I'd love to give them to people who would use them, but I was worried they might think that was gross, lol.
I'd say yes, if the stuff are hygienic. I gave away some of my stuff too, but I wouldnt give away used lipgloss or stuff like that :)

This kind of giveaway thing not only looks like Christmas, but it allows you to test products you may never have tested, especially if they come from abroad ;)

I dealt with the same issue when I wanted to get rid of my makeup so I gave it away on craigslist for whomever wanted it or you can do it this way . A lot of people love it and would go for it and then they can sanitize with alcohol or do whatever they want with it .

that would be a great idea as long as they are things that can be sanitized or are not that likely to carry germs from one person to another. so no used lipglosses, liquid concealers, lipsstick, etc

Definitely yes! I sent a box of gently used make up (as long as it's powder or without applicator like lipgloss and mascara, it's fine) to Caroline at Give and Make Up (http://www.giveandmakeup.com/) who's been collecting for Refuge, a charity supporting women and children who have been victims of domestic violence and had to go to shelters, often without any hygene essentials (incl. cosmetics). Also, I sometimes buy used cosmetics from blog sales or eBay, as long as they're in clean good condition, I don't mind.

I'd say sure! If they are clean and if there's still a big amount of product left, it would be a great deal, both for you, who's not using it anymore, and for the person receiving it ^^

I don't mind to use pre-owned make-up. I have some products that I've used just once and I don't like them, so I have them at home, but someone may like them and want to use them, so it's a great idea
I've never had any pre-owned makeup but I do give mine away to my sister :)

I give away makeup somtimes and I love the surprised but happy expression people have when you give it them them. I got some concealer from Sleek and it was waaaay too dark a shade when I tried it, so I simply gave it to my friend, and it matched perfectly :D xxx
I say yes, most makeup can be sanitized and it's no different then to getting a makeover from a beauty counter!

I think it applies only for certain items, powders and eyeshadows and blushes yes, pencil items yes but lipsticks lipglosses mascara, gel/liquiid eye liners not so much as you can't really clean them. Just my thoughts on the matter.

I often give away things that I don't use to friends or family who ask me about makeup stuff. If you have a lot of things you don't use, you could hold a blog sale. I know it seems like you're willing to give items away, but with a blog sale you can use the money either for future purchases for your blog, or to give to a local charity.

UH HUH! Many of the products are UK/CANADA/US companies so when they're brought to Asia, they cost A LOT. So it would be really really cool to try them out first before I decide to buy them (if i ever do)
