Recent haul(s)

Hope you had a fantastic weekend! I booked today off and tomorrow is my RDO because I’m working on Sat (Boooo!!) so I’m currently making the most of my 4 day weekend by doing as little as humanly possible (Hurrah!!)

So I’d promised myself I wouldn’t splash out on anything I don’t actually need but over the last couple of weeks I’ve picked up a few things that I just couldnt resist. Honestly if I could avoid Boots and Superdrug for, oooh, say... 3 months? I’d be totally loaded! (and probably really rough looking thanks to having run out of my essential cosmetics!)

Unfortunately I got some real duds on my shopping trips; haven’t mentioned them here because I’m gonna do a separate post on my recent rubbish purchases fairly soon :)

MAC Liquidlast Liners in Fuchsia and Electrolady

As you’ve probably noticed from my previous posts I don’t really use many high-end products. As far as I’m concerned if there’s an assistant at the counter to “give you a hand” then the prices are probably gonna be waay too high for me but I’ve made an exception here!

I got the Electrolady liner from the MAC website for £13.50 and totally loved it so I had a look online for the Fuchsia shade which I got from love-makeup.co.uk for £7.99

Garnier Fresh Essentials eye make-up remover

I usually use Lancôme Bi-Facil which I adore but at £19.50 I’ve been on the lookout for a cheaper alternative.

Garnier Soft Essentials wipes

Heard a few good things about the Garnier one and the range was on offer so I got the makeup remover and wipes for £4

Barry M lip glosses in no 5 and no 12

Best smelling lip glosses I’ve come across in AGES. The darker pink shade (no 5) smells exactly like bubblegum and the lighter shade(no 12) smells deliciously fruity – neither of the shades are nearly as bright on my lips as they look in the tubes! I generally go for pale pinks so tried these on the wrist before buying and they’re not as OTT as you’d think :)

Rimmel Perfect Match Foundation

I’d list Rimmels Lasting Finish foundation as one of my all time favourite products so I figured this had to be worth a try. Only worn it for a couple of days so haven't decided what I think of it yet!

Montagne Jeunesse face masks

I reckon these are one of the most underrated products available! Honestly the prices is incredible considering they’re such great quality. Got a few different types and I’m gonna use the Chocolate one tonight before I spend a while lying in the bath reading this months Glamour magazine

Britney Spears Circus

Now I know that being 25 I should probably have more “sophisticated” taste when it comes to perfumes but I love anything that smells really really sweet and comes in a pretty bottle. I’m shallow like that! :)

Anywho this is my favourite item of the week cos Adryen and I were in Superdrug and whilst I wandered off to have a look at the jewellery he sneaked up to the counter and bought this for me. I thought it was rather sweet because I’ve been wanting to buy this for a while but just couldnt justify it!

Apologies for not going into much detail on each item but if you want an actual review or more info on any of the products just let me know! Hope you’ve had a nice start to the week ♥

I bought one of Britneys perfumes a year or so ago for a bargain in duty free, and as much as I hate to admit it, part of me loves it! Although I don't think it's an everyday perfume, I really liked it for lazy summer days.xx

oooh I have that pink Barry M lipgloss! I like how it's not too pigmented, makes it scarier to wear :) and haha I get what you mean about boots and superdrug, thankfully living in luxembourg means I'm not tempted as I'm far too stingy to buy anything in Sephora (ESPECIALLY the european benefit prices- are they off their trolleys???!!!!no way will i waste my money on that) although sometimes a little snooping is required in sephora as my sis once got the too faced smokey eye palette for FIVE euros as opposed to 30 (we think it was a pricing mistake though haha) whoops sorry I'm rambling :P anyway those liquid liners look great, I hope you'll do swatches! xxxxxx

Oh I wish I could be in your stead and relax in bath with one of those masks... I'll have to do with lying in my bed sipping the recommended tea ^.^ Thanks for being so caring hun!
And yes, I think in the last picture it's more redness than actual spots, I'm really beginning to see improvement now! (I'm pretty happy with that, because after all, we are our own worst critics...)

How nice to be treated to perfume! Lucky you!!
I am a sucker for MAC but now I only ever buy it from Chloe in Plymouth after coming across one of those 'helpful' assistants in Selfridges in Brum! And I'm a sad soul...I never feel brave enough to try the MAC store in Brum, tho' I'm sure they are very nice!!
Still, it does mean only 2 spends a year, so that's not a bad thing!
You got a good haul tho'.

Thank you for your comment.
Great post! I really miss being able to wear and experiment with all different sorts of make up.
You should definitely read the Flashman books they are fab, I watched The Never Ending Story again the other night it's still sooooo good and don't knock Marmite and Ketchup until you've tried it (although I'll admit it's an aquired taste :) x

Those masks are amazing. Chocolate is my favorite because both my boyfriend and me want to eat it off my face haha. I have only found the Chocolate and the last one that you have pictured. I put them on at night and then put my overnight cream on afterwords. They really seem to get my pores really really clean, which I love!

I don't know much about make up, but it looks to me like you've got a great haul here! Those garnier wipes any good? I get too lazy at night, and would just love something to wipe the grit and grime off my face without drying it out. hehee

Thanks so much for all your lovely comments - always brightens my day :)

Nats we dont have Sephora stores here in the UK but I’d absolutely love to browse in one for a while cos it sounds like they sell absolutely everything. And the Too Faced palette for 5 euros?! Total bargain even if it did happen to be an error! I’m loving liquid liners at the min so there’s definitely gonna be a swatch post soon :)

Miss Jones it really really does – honestly no matter how rubbish my week is a little Saturday afternoon shopping trip never fails to brighten my mood! Oh and welcome and thanks for following. Shall be popping over to your blog for a little look in a min

Bibi I couldnt agree more! My sisters are always saying my skin is lovely but obviously they don’t see me first thing in the morning when I’m looking my worst. Kinda hard to just listen to other peoples opinions I reckon ♥

Noir – consider it done! I’ll do a review this week :)

Pennyblossom he really is too sweet sometimes (not that I’m complaining of course!) Dont you just love finding an assistant you really like who gives fantastic advice? The Estee Lauder girls in my local Boots are absolutely lovely so I wouldnt buy my goodies from anywhere else!

Purdey Singleton I just started a completely awful girly book that came free with a magazine so I’m gonna suffer through the rest of it and then start on Flashman! Oh and I’ve also downloaded The Neverending Story :)

Abi it’s the first time I’ve ever tried these wipes – so far so good and I’ll let you know after I’ve been using them for a couple of weeks. I’m really fussy so have to see if they impress me over time!

Angga I'll definitely do a review - just gonna select a few favourites because there are soooo many in the range! :)

Stavroula I'm really liking the wipes; I use them for removing my makeup before I wash my face and they've done a good job so far! I will be doing a review on the foundation asap... I wanna be 100% sure what I think before I give my 2 cents worth ♥
