Primark beauty goodies

Ok, I have to start by saying “Brrr!!” can you believe how cold it is?! Honestly I haven’t warmed up in days – last night I actually slept with my dressing gown over my pjs. Time to dig out the electric blanket methinks :)

I’m s’posed to be getting ready to go see Reginald D Hunter (one of my all time favourite comedians!) but figured I’d have time to squeeze in a little post about a couple of beauty products I got from Primark. Hadn’t even realised they were selling cosmetics till I read a review of the primer by Aimee.
Prime of your life

I’ve only used this a couple of times and I’m seriously impressed by the quality. It’s hard to believe this only cost £3 cos I’ve paid 5 times as much for primers and liked them less! The texture is lovely and melts straight into my skin so it looks and feels smooth with no horrid residue
I’m incredibly picky when it comes to primers cos I find starting to apply my makeup on a crappy base just leads to a crappy end result so I’ll be using this with different foundations n such before I review it properly :)

Pout Perfected

Ick ick ick! This product is so rubbish I don’t even have the words; it might’ve only cost £2 but seeing how I’ll be chucking it in the bin it’s not exactly a bargain!

First thing that grabbed my attention was the packaging cos it looks awesome! It claims to be a “clever nude lip cream” and I thought that sounded really appealing cos I pictured a simple, natural, sleek finish that would just enhance my natural lip colour. No such luck

It’s got a strange velvety texture... Normally when I say velvety it’s entirely positive but in this is just feels odd and unpleasant on my lips. The colour is very similar to my natural lip colour so essentially I end up with this horrible feeling cream on my lips that doesn’t do anything to enhance them whatsoever! I'll say it again... Ick ick ick!

If you’ve tried anything from the Primark cosmetics section feel free to mention it below! I’d love to know what you think of the stuff before I go and blow my hard earned cash on anything else. Hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend! :)

I tried their nail polish - worst nail polish everrrrrr! So streaky, impossible to work with.
Then I tried their lipglosses in the tubes the ones WITHOUT the wand and they are great. Not sticky at all.

i really like the primer but the first one i had wouldnt come out so i had to depot it, and i prefered using it like that. i also got the other product that's packaged the same (glow something ?) which i found far too glittery. i also had the mascara that's double ended, one end is a clear liquid meant to clean up smudges. i wasn't a fan of the actual mascara but the smudge remover was a lifesaver for eyeliner mishaps!

Oooh I love that primer! Doesn't it remind you of the benefit that gal primer? :)

I have seen 3 Primark reviews in the last week and 2 other people said that the gloss is YUCK!

Warpaintguru said their brush shedded like 100 hairs when being used, so so rubbish (big powder brush)..

I think on the whole I'll probably not try anything from Primark, as I suspect I (personally) will do the same as I tend to do with their clothes0 i.e. buy lots of it because it's cheap, but never wear it because it err also *feels* cheap..:)

I'm such a baby about cold weather!

I love makeup, but I'm not an obsessive makeup buyer, so I love reading your blog to see what I SHOULD be spending money on (instead of massive amounts of clothes!) :)

I think you were really brave trying Primark products on your face! The packaging always looks appealing to me but I'm always dubious of the quality...
Try Barry M's lipgloss in 01 I think for an affordable nude gloss with lovely scent and sweet taste.

Sorry that the gloss didn't work out for you, but your description of it is hilarious, lol. Yay for the primer!

I really like the primer, to me it's just as good as Benefit's That Gal, but so cheap! Haven't tried the lipgloss yet though!

I never knew Primark were doing cosmetics either! I've ran out of my Primer Potion too, so maybe this would be worth trying?! Trip to Primark this weekend it is! x

KawaiiFreakxXx it really does! Even the packaging is really similar to Benefits That Gal! I rather like that it’s about £17 cheaper too :)

Nic I totally loved your review on the Primark makeup goodies! I cant help thinking I’m gonna have to buy at least 1 of everything to find a few gems (though I’ll be avoiding that brush!) But at those prices I guess I cant really complain too much

Cheeky Beauty I’m the same – go into Primark and come out with bags full of stuff I don’t really need or want! But then I also wear the little long sleeved tops pretty much every day and I like the socks, jammies and underwear. S’pose I just like to feel like I’m getting a bargain (even though thats not always the case!)

Cosmetics Aficionado as far as I know Primark is only in the UK (although they have a version called Pennys in the south of Ireland) and it’s famous for being a bargain clothes store that sells seriously cheap clothes, shoes and other bits n pieces. The quality can be iffy but it’s kinda hard to resist getting a whole outfit for £30! :)

Stacey I’m insanely fussy about primers so even though I’ve been using this for a few days I havent decided that I definitely like it yet. Ever come across a product and feel that maybe it’s too good to be true? Thats kinda how I feel about this! Looking forward to seeing what you think if you pick up a bottle

Primark are now selling Pout Perfected for £1 and I got suckered into believing I'd get a nice nude:D It looks like I've applied warm-toned liquid foundation very badly onto my lips; it goes well with my skintone but not so much my lips natural pale mauve(?!, which shows through. I like the texture and finish, that's what making me keep it.
