Makeup from Claire's

Is it just me or is the weekend always over waaay too quickly?! On the plus side I spent most of today reading, walking the pooch, eating scrummy cinnamon bagels and even managed to squeeze in a little shopping :)

I popped into Claire’s accessories for some new earrings because I think their jewellery is fantastic quality and there’s always sooo much to choose from

Anywho, it got me thinking about all the makeup I own from Claire’s. I haven’t come across many people talking about it and I figured it’s worth a mention because it’s surprisingly good, not to mention great value!

A particular favourite are the eye shadow palettes – I currently own two; one with 10 fairly bright shades and one with 10 neutral shades and I absolutely love both. The neutral shade selection is a recent repurchase cos I’d hit pan on 4 different shades of my last palette!
The eye shadow itself is extremely soft (but not in the flakey must-use-loads-to-get-any-colour kinda way!) and the shades are all nicely pigmented and have a little shimmer

black eye pencil, black mascara, silver glitter mascara

Also, I wanted to mention the eye pencil, mascara and lip gloss because they might be seriously inexpensive but there’s loads of nice shades to choose from, the quality is great and the packaging is always really simple but pretty. They’re not exactly luxury products but they do what they say on the tin at an affordable price and I don’t ask for more than that!
Have you stumbled across any not-so-well-known makeup brands that actually turned out to be far better than expected?

Natural collection, it's in boots. I don't rate their foundations, lipsticks, glosses. But I do rate their eyeshadow. It's super cheap. I am going to buy a silver colour tomo, will blog it in the week. :)

Hm, those eyeshadow palettes look just like my Beauty UK ones. I see the LA Colors sets repackaged as in-store brands all the time, I wonder if this is the same thing.

All the jewellery I buy from Claire's falls to bits within a few wears and I think it's overpriced.

But they do have some really pretty and unique things and I can't help but spend loads of money in there. :P

this is a great recommendation. . i'm generally wary of most palettes because they do not come on the way they look. . will defo give claire's a try!

you know, i've never really thought about trying claire's makeup. this post has encouraged me to try it out! especially since it's so inexpensive - if i don't end up liking it, it's cheap enough to be okay :)

i actually really like forever 21 makeup. i have seen people talking about it, but it's definitely not as prominent in the makeup scene as mac, urban decay, etc.

Weird, I'd never heard of this brand before, and now twice in two days - I was watching a youtube video yesterday by... I think it might have been emilynoel83 (can't swear to it), and she talked about these palettes and said she never heard anyone mention them. How odd!

I lost all of my make up moving house last year and didn't have a lot of money so I ended up impulse buying their brights palette.
It's definitely one of the best eyeshadow palettes I've ever bought :)

I have tried their make-up before and I didn't like it as much \: It was a concealer and it did nothing for me!
But their eyeshadows look pretty good (:

Thanks for all the recommendations people! I’ve actually found that all the best products I’ve bought over the last couple of months are ones that have been recommended by other bloggers, which obviously gives me an excuse to purchase a few new items from the ranges mentioned above :)

Oh and my local Superdrug has just started selling Beauty UK palettes and they’re really similar to these! I think they’re about the same price too

you know I always get so attracted to claire's lippies and eyeshadows coz of the shimmers and glitters but never took the risk of buying thinking it would be cheap quality !!

I have claires eyelash curler though (was super cheap :P) & tried their polishes too (they are just lovely!!). I'm wanting to try their mood polishes for quite sometime after seeing so many bloggers rave about them!!

I have started hating their jewelry lately. they rust super fast like just after 1 or 2 wear :(
